SINGAPORE — Contrary to expectations, new Housing Board (HDB) flats in Tampines were not the top draw in this month’s Build-to-Order (BTO) launch, which closed at midnight.
Instead, Buangkok Woods in Hougang was the most popular project, with 4.4 applicants for each three-room flat and 4.3 for each four-room flat as of 5pm yesterday.
There were 1.3 to 2.3 applicants for each available unit in Tampines, depending on flat type.
SINGAPORE — Five new BTO projects were launched – three in the non-mature towns of Hougang, Sembawang and Yishun, and another two projects in the mature town of Tampines.

SINGAPORE : A five-room flat at City View @ Boon Keng has scored a record price of $1.1 million for a Design, Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS) development.
The coup comes despite a depressed resale market, underscoring what housing experts said is a persistent demand by some buyers for premium units in central locations.
Units that can command such sky-high prices are “outliers”, they noted.
